Avantgarde

Art Deco - it is short for the French word artistic decoratifs. This movement started in the 1920's and led up to the second world war. It can be seen in the Americas (heavily in Miami), Europe (Romania, Spain, and England), Asia (India), and Africa. It is an elegant and modern. It is practiced through visual, industrial, and graphic art. Hector Guimard and Eugene Grasset were among many founders of the movement. Top: New India Assurance Building, 1936, Mumbai, India.
